These posts document earlier concepts: multi-player simulation, prototypes, proof-of-concept work, and education content. The current game and dev journal start with Hoshi no Isan: Introducing the New Direction. For the latest updates, see the Development Journal and the main site.

The archive is organized chronologically. Early entries (2010–2014) cover the original high concept, physical prototype sessions, and live simulation ideas. Later posts (2015–2025) include the 2017 frame build, 2024 proof-of-concept research, and technical explorations (LVGL, Unity, space station networks, ambient music). None of these replace the current direction — Hoshi no Isan is the definitive vision — but they show how the project evolved. For ship and crew details, see The Yamabiko and The Crew; for design rationale, the Game Design Document.

Key series in this archive: the prototype sessions 1–12 (Feb 2013–Jun 2014) document the first physical build; Prototype 2017 (frame, getting together, second touch screen) the next cockpit iteration; and Proof of Concept 2024 (research, pre-building) the move toward the current game. Each post is linked in the list below. The Development Journal covers Hoshi no Isan from 2025 onward.
